Farewell of Xmarks

I have started my blog by writing about Xmarks. Because I fell in love with that nice tool.

There are some alternatives. Eg. For firefox we can use firefox sync For Google Chrome -> Chrome sync etc. But still Xmarks rules.

But ……………..

They are going to shut down their free service from the effect of 10^th of January year 2011. These days they are sending an official mail regarding their farewell to each & every registered users.

I still admired one of statement of the beginning of their mail is

“Dear Xmarks User,

We've always said we won't email you unless it's important; this is one of those occasions:

Xmarks will be shutting down our free browser synchronization services on January 10, 2011. For details on how to transition to recommended alternatives, consult this page.

…….. “

Well ……. That’s very unfortunate. And also they have mentioned that the full story behind this departure can be viewed from their Xmarks blog.

So that’s it…..

They have done a great job. Very good job indeed. Good bye dear old Xmarks………

Cisco CCNP New Structure

As we all (I mean all Cisco interested guys) know that after 31^st of July 2010 Cisco CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) exam has been expired & we all got a new version of CCNP v6.

CCNPv5 BCMSN, BSCI, ISCW & ONT

But CCNPv6 consists on ROUTE (642-902) SWITCH (642-813) TSHOOT (642-832)

And more importantly each cost $200 & with the exam duration of 120 minutes.

Will it worth?

One might say this won’t be worth as its sees. But when we take look at the content of all the 3 subjects (as a networking personnel’s point of view), routing & switching are more concentrated rather than going for QoS, Security etc. That’s a good move where one person can specialize in those mentioned areas with more trouble shooting experience.
